Erick Funcke, D.V.M.
Universidad Alas Peruanas
Dr. Erick Funcke grew up in Lima, Peru, surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses—developing a lifelong passion for animal health. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Universidad Alas Peruanas in 2001 and has been serving pets and families in Florida since 2008. Known for his compassionate approach and dedication to improving every pet’s quality of life, Dr. Funcke combines deep medical knowledge with genuine care. He lives with his wife Jennyfer, their two sons Nicholas and Sebastian, three dogs (Abby, Misty, and Chewy), and a rescue cat named Michi.
Heather Chamberlain, D.V.M.

Dr. Heather Chamberlain was born and raised in Miami, FL. She has a business degree from Stetson University (2006) and a doctorate from Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine (2019). When she is not practicing medicine , she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her family, dog and two cats.
Katia Watters, D.V.M
Dr. Waters has been passionate about animal wellness since childhood, growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and spending her early years on her godparent's ranch. She earned her veterinary degree from St. Matthew's University in Grand Cayman in 2014.
Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Dr. Watters is dedicated to compassionate high-quality care. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her daughters, Juliette and Sienna, horseback riding, traveling and caring for her beloved pets.

Elizabeth Acosta, D.V.M
La Salle University
Dr. Acosta was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. She graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from La Salle University in 2014. After moving to South Florida in 2015, she worked as a veterinary technician until she earned her veterinary medical license. In addition to caring for all pets at Animal Medical Center, she likes to spend her free time enjoying time with her family, her 4 cats and 1 dog.

Under the guidance of Head Nurse Marsha, our experienced nursing staff blends clinical expertise with genuine compassion, delivering high-quality medical support while prioritizing comfort, safety, and gentle handling for every patient. Complementing this care is our welcoming reception team, led by Practice Manager Natasha, who serves as the heart of your first impression—ensuring you and your pet feel at ease from the moment you walk through our doors with friendly service, clear communication, and attentive support throughout your experience.
Natasha
Natasha has proudly served as the Practice Manager for our animal hospital for over seven years. With a strong background in veterinary operations and team leadership, she plays a vital role in ensuring both clients and patients receive the highest level of care. She is passionate about supporting clients and their pets while helping to ensure every visit is welcoming, compassionate and well-organized.
Irene
Irene has spent the last six years at Animal Medical Center, where she's developed a deep love for meeting new people and building relationships that last. When she is not at work, her world revolves around her family. She is a proud mom of three and a very happy grandmother that treasures every second of grandma time. Her house is kept lively by her two fur babies Ritz and Ghost Face Killer. To relax she loves traveling, swimming or whipping up a huge meal for a big family gathering.
Aaron
Aaron is a dedicated and compassionate veterinary technician with 6 years of experience at Animal Medical Center. He is currently pursuing a long-term goal of becoming a veterinarian driven by a passion for animal health and to make a greater impact in the field. Outside of work, Aaron is a proud father of a two-year-old son and a devoted dog parent to his dog Chewbaca.
Marsha
Marsha is a seasoned head nurse with 20 years of experience in veterinary animal hospitals. She excels in clinical skills including IV catheter placement, bloodwork, emergency and surgical care. She is a compassionate leader, guides her team through hands on training and professional development, and ensuring exceptional patient care and cohesive highly skilled nursing team.
Piero
Piero brings over 18 years of experience and is truly passionate about animal care. He is currently working as a technician while working toward becoming a veterinarian. He makes sure to work to give all pets the best care possible.
Gabrielle
Gabrielle is a veterinarian technician who loves working with her team and meeting new animals each day.
